The Canton Lions Club has made a contribution to local history by donating a photograph of the 1950 Canton Lions to The Old Jail Museum in Canton. The photo was presented by Timmy Pickett, the club’s 2025 Tail Twister, to Maureen Simpson, President of the Canton-Madison County Historical Preservation Society.
The Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International, a global service organization focused on community service, vision care, youth engagement and disaster relief. The Canton Lions Club has been active for decades, supporting a variety of local initiatives and projects.
The photo, featuring members of the 1950 club, will be preserved and displayed at The Old Jail Museum, which serves as a historical archive for the city and Madison County. The museum is operated by the Canton-Madison County Historical Preservation Society and is dedicated to preserving and sharing the region’s cultural and civic heritage.
The donation highlights the Lions Club’s ongoing commitment to community service and local history. The organization continues to support a range of causes in Canton, including vision screenings, scholarships and public service initiatives.
