Canton Alderman Tim Taylor recently awarded two scholarships in memory of his late mother, Emma Pearl Williams, to Canton High School seniors Anya McDonald and Jaziriah Morment.

The scholarships were presented to support and empower the recipients as they pursue their educational goals.

During the ceremony, Taylor addressed the Class of 2025, delivering an encouraging message centered on resilience and faith. He urged students to remain steadfast in the face of challenges and to place their trust in God.

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,’” Taylor said, quoting Scripture.

His remarks resonated with the audience, offering motivation and reflection as the graduating class prepares for the next chapter of their lives.
