Special to The Canton News
Canton Academy’s sixth-grade class had a memorable day that didn’t go quite as planned—but ended up being even better than expected. The students were en route to their graduation canoeing trip at the Okatoma River when they received the unfortunate news that the trip had been canceled.
But there was no need for disappointment with Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Miller, and Mrs. Curro behind the wheel of the school van. A few quick phone calls, and the day was swiftly reimagined into an exciting adventure.
The students headed to TopGolf in the morning, where they enjoyed swinging clubs and some friendly competition. Afterward, the group ventured to Old Mountain Adventure for an exhilarating ropes course.
From swinging golf clubs to swinging from trees, the day offered plenty of excitement as the sixth graders capped off their final moments as elementary students with a fun-filled day. Now, they say they are looking forward to swinging into seventh grade as they enter the next chapter of their academic journey.
