Special to The Canton News
Nissan Canton employees spent this summer focusing on community service, lending their time and energy to local organizations through the company’s annual “Summer of Service” initiative.
Over several weeks, employees participated in a variety of projects designed to meet needs across the community. The efforts included a blood drive with Mississippi Blood Services, a canned food drive to support Our Daily Bread Ministries, and hands-on volunteer work with local nonprofits and museums.
Teams of employees volunteered at Madison Countians Allied Against Poverty (MadCAAP), where they assisted with programs serving families in need. They also gave their time to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi, helping support youth development activities. In addition, volunteers worked with the Mississippi Children’s Museum and the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, supporting events and programs aimed at enriching the lives of children and families.
Nissan Canton officials said the summer initiative reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to the region.
“Our employees are proud to be part of a company that values community,” the statement read. “At Nissan, we believe in building more than vehicles — we strive to build stronger communities and make a lasting impact.”
The Summer of Service program has become a tradition for Nissan Canton, reinforcing the company’s role as both an employer and a community partner in central Mississippi.
