The Tigers took a blow against the Holmes County Central Jaguars on Friday, falling 50-13. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost four in a row.
Davarious Johnson produced another solid effort throwing for 216 yards and five TDs while completing 75% of his passes for Holmes County Central. Johnson is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Rashad Campbell, who gained 80 total yards and two touchdowns.
Canton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Holmes County Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Canton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Callaway at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Holmes County Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 42-0 victory against Greenwood on the 3rd.
