Canton prepares to glow for Christmas season

The Historic Canton Square is already beginning to sparkle as Canton gears up for its annual holiday show. Known affectionately as Mississippi’s original “City of Lights,” Canton will once again line its square with tens of thousands of shimmering bulbs and festive displays.

According to Canton Tourism, decorations are going up early this year, and visitors and residents alike are invited to “come make Christmas memories” on the square. 

The month‑long festival, which features family‑friendly rides, photo moments and other holiday attractions, will run from the end of November through much of December.

Keep an eye on downtown Canton and start planning your visit soon — it’s almost time for the lights to switch on.
