CHS Band wins Grand Championship at Battle of the Bands

The Canton High School (CHS) band, the CHS Baby Boom of the South, claimed the overall championship title at the annual Leake County High School Battle of the Bands on Saturday, earning three trophies for the evening.

The Baby Boom of the South secured first place in Division Two and was awarded the trophy for best drumline before being named the grand champions of the competition.

Band director Mr. Muhammad received special recognition for his leadership and motivation, which school officials credit as instrumental in guiding the talented group.

“We are incredibly proud of our scholars and their dedication, discipline, and musical talent,” a school representative said. “Way to go, Tigers!”
