CA senior Tillie Oglesbee wins DAR Scholarship Essay Award

Canton Academy senior Tillie Oglesbee was recently awarded the DAR Good Citizen Award for the school.

Her essay was submitted for the national American History Essay Contest, which this year focused on the theme: “Our American heritage and our responsibility for preserving it.”

Oglesbee’s essay was recognized for its creativity, understanding and pride in the theme.

She was honored and presented the award by Regent Betsy Sligh of the Doak's Treaty Chapter and Committee Chairman Lynda Flynn.

School officials expressed pride in Oglesbee’s accomplishment, stating, "We are so proud of you, Tillie!"
