Judge Marsha Weems Stacey was sworn in as the City of Canton’s newly appointed Municipal Court judge during a recent ceremony officiated by Dr. Chuconna Anderson.
Mayor Tim Taylor was present to witness the occasion.
Stacey takes on the role as part of the city’s municipal court, which handles misdemeanor offenses, traffic violations and other matters within the court’s jurisdiction.
City officials expressed their congratulations to Stacey as she begins her service on the bench.
In a separate ceremony held Jan. 28, 2026, Judge Martina Griffin was officially sworn in as judge pro tem for Canton’s Municipal Court.
A judge pro tem serves in the absence of the municipal court judge and assists with court proceedings as needed.
City leaders also congratulated Griffin and said they look forward to her continued service to the Canton community.
