Madison County Youth Leadership completes second day of career exploration

Madison County Youth Leadership students recently concluded Career Exploration Day 2 with a full day of hands-on learning, leadership development and career exposure across Madison County.

The day began with breakfast and a Leadership Compass self-assessment led by Candie Simmons, followed by a visit to Mad Genius and a session with Dr. Phyllis Johnson of the Mississippi Board of Nursing.

Students later visited Adams & Reese, where they heard from attorney Whit Kendall, participated in a time management leadership session with Amanda Fontaine, and learned about careers in journalism, television and meteorology from Chase Franks and Candice Bruce of WLBT.

The day concluded with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Pirouline Cookie Factory, where students explored entrepreneurship and manufacturing operations.
