Canton men’s and women’s faced struggles this season, with the men finishing with a record of 8-12-1 and the women finishing with a record of 4-15-1. Neither team truly found the consistency needed to string together multiple wins, as well as being in a very tough district.
On the men’s side there were positives to takeaway in the 8 win season, a highlight being winning 5 out of the first 7 games. The struggles began when the team entered district play. The team lost 10 out of their next 12 and would go on to go 0-10 in district play. The Tigers were involved in some close games, losing just 1-0 to Ridgeland and tying with Neshoba, but it wasn’t quite enough down the stretch to gross a record above .500.
On the women’s side it was tough going this season. A couple big losses in district play made it difficult for the Lady Tigers to establish some momentum. The positives came from 2 district wins however, both of which were against Callaway. The women did however secure wins against Jim Hill, and a tie against Leake Central.
The season has concluded, with the next scheduled start coming in the Winter of 2026.
