Canton High School has defeated Forest Hill and Murrah to open up their baseball season with a 2-0 record. The team has scored a combined 21 runs through the first two games, and only given up 3.
Through the first two games both sides of the ball have been getting it done for Canton, as the team sits with 3 players batting .500 or above. Along with the starting pitching of Tristian Carpenter, who’s played 7 innings with no earned runs, and 15 strikeouts, this Canton team looks dangerous to start the season.
The team will now play five more out of district games, before their first district series against Ridgeland high school. The next match up will be on the 17th, a the team plays a 1-2 Vicksburg high school, and looks to continue their unbeaten start.
