Special to The Canton News

Melanie Bonner, a Canton resident and the founder and CEO of MyClynz, is a leader in a crucial movement toward safer beauty and elevated professional standards. MyClynz is a Black-owned B2B haircare brand dedicated to removing harmful toxins from styling tools and hair pieces such as wigs, toupees/man-units, extensions/bundles and braiding hair.
Bonner says that, in response to alarming studies by Consumer Reports revealing hazardous chemicals in synthetic and human braiding hair, she has developed a patent pending solution to protect both consumers and beauty professionals.
MyClynz features an innovative, patent-pending shampoo and haircare line specifically formulated to remove cancer-linked toxins, such as lead and formaldehyde, often used in synthetic and human hairpieces. The product line is uniquely designed for professionals and is sold exclusively in large containers to hair salons and barbershops. By addressing these hidden dangers, Bonner says that MyClynz ensures that individuals no longer have to choose between their beauty and their health. She says this mission is especially critical for vulnerable populations, including those fighting cancer and/or living with alopecia, who rely on these hair pieces for confidence and normalcy during difficult times.

“Our mission is to actively work to protect and improve public health within our society and for future generations,” said Bonner. “No one—neither the professional stylist nor the client—should ever have to compromise their well-being for their appearance and confidence.”
In recognition of her impactful, groundbreaking and innovative work, Bonner competed and was a top contender and finalist for the Entrepreneur of Impact Award. The competition highlights leaders who are making a significant difference in their fields and communities.
Everyone is encouraged to learn more about the health risks associated with conventional hairpieces and the solutions MyClynz offers. Bonner says MyClynz is committed to improving public health and establishing safer beauty standards for professionals and clients alike, especially those fighting cancer and/or living with alopecia.
