Canton Public School District recently announced that the Tiger Tycoons have earned a commendable second place in the highly competitive 2026 Mississippi Council on Economic Education (MCEE) State Personal Finance Challenge. The event took place at the Mississippi Public Broadcasting facilities, where the team faced off against three other talented teams in their division.
Throughout the competition, coordinators said the Tiger Tycoons demonstrated financial literacy skills, critical thinking and outstanding teamwork, all of which were crucial for navigating the challenging scenarios presented to them. Their ability to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts was reportedly impressive, showcasing the rigorous preparation they undertook leading up to the event.
In recognition of their achievement and dedication, each team member received a $250 scholarship, not only highlighting their success but also serving as a stepping stone for furthering their education and financial acumen.
School district representatives said, “Congratulations to the Tiger Tycoons for becoming two-time State Champions and three-time state winners! Your hard work, determination and commitment to excellence continue to make us proud. You consistently represent our organization with integrity and skill, and we look forward to your future accomplishments!”
The dynamic Tiger Tycoons team is comprised of Alexandria Luckett, Nelly Cardona-Rosales, Jalynn Dunigan and Henser Vicente, and they are coached by Teena Ruth.
