Huey L. Porter Middle School students Shilarah Brown and Jacob Gonzalez were recognized as prize winners in the Capital Area Bar Association’s (CABA) annual essay contest for seventh- and eighth-grade students across the Jackson area.
The students earned honors for essays addressing this year’s topic, “Why is the Role of Law Important in Our Society?” The contest is sponsored by CABA’s Law Related Education Committee.
Pictured with the students is Taylor Weatherspoon of Phelps Dunbar, who coordinated this year’s essay competition. Their recognition highlights the academic achievement and strong writing skills of Huey L. Porter students.
