Creativity was on full display as children participated in Madison Countians Allied Against Poverty’s (MadCAAP) annual Love for Lacey Arts & Crafts Camp, a weeklong program dedicated to fostering artistic expression while honoring the memory of a beloved community member.
The camp is held each year in memory of Lacey, a cherished friend of MadCAAP whose legacy continues to inspire creativity, learning and joy among local children.
Throughout the week, campers explored a variety of hands-on art projects designed to encourage imagination and self-expression. Activities included painting canvases, creating paper bead jewelry, decorating pottery, painting story stones, designing birdhouses and completing several other arts and crafts projects.
Organizers said the camp provided participants with opportunities to develop new skills, make friends and express their creativity in a supportive environment.
The week was filled with smiles, enthusiasm and artistic achievements as children proudly showcased their creations. Camp leaders expressed gratitude to participants, families and volunteers who helped make the event a success.
MadCAAP officials said the annual camp remains a meaningful way to celebrate Lacey’s memory while creating lasting memories for a new generation of young artists.
