Hustling and bustling in the City of Lights of Canton, MS as parents prepare their little ones and young adults for school. School is in session for some scholars in surrounding areas. Also, most adults are in school in order to start a career or to choose a new career.
This is my favorite time of the year because the season change from summer to fall and everyone have a sense of enthusiasm. The fall brings football and soccer for all to enjoy. There are connections of old and new friends. Therefore, it is time to refocus and be more organized. The school year brings meeting new friends, learning a new hobby, and lay down a strong foundation for knowledge building.
I can remember my first day of school, I was so nervous my brother walked me to class and stayed in the kindergarten class for about an hour. Mrs. Calhoun, general education teacher explained to my brother she will be alright and you need to get to class. I was so shy, but as the year went on, I gain new friends and learned so much about myself.
Key take away, for the 2026-2027 school year each day is a great day to learn something new.
