The City of Canton welcomes Eugene Luckett as new chief of police

The City of Canton recently named Eugene Luckett as the city’s new chief of police. A lifelong Madison County resident, Luckett has served with the Canton Fire Department, Canton Police Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi Highway Patrol and continues as a member of the Farmhaven Volunteer Fire Department. A 1992 graduate of Velma Jackson High School, he brings decades of law enforcement and emergency services experience to the role.

City officials congratulated Luckett on his appointment and expressed confidence in his leadership as he begins serving the Canton community.
