The World Needs More Compassion

“Engaged Compassion,” by Lobsang Tenzin Negi, Ph.D.

The world is full of people, places, pets, and things. Life is beautiful and kind. Sometimes in life one can take a break and enjoy your surroundings. People can connect and bring bright ideas to life. Life is what you make it to be full.

Years ago, I met a young person that once told me to slow down and enjoy life. At the time I was in my twenties and I really did not understand. I thought I was enjoying life because I had just finish graduate school and I had a great job. But, now looking back at my life in my twenties I was always rushing and just trying to be accepted by society. Now, that I am older I slow down and enjoy my life. For instance, I take time to sit by the lake and read in the evenings. I learn so much about myself and others.

So, I picked up this book titled, “Engaged Compassion,” by Lobsang Tenzin Negi, Ph.D. I learned about the seven practices to cultivate resilience, connection, and a joyous life. One practice I learned was staying mindful of important differences. The key point was to have compassion to someone who really do not know how to love.

Remember everyone is different and we can still live together. Now, is the time show kindness and love in this beautiful world.

After reading this article, I realized that racing through life and not slowing down a bit will have you at a loss. At a point, you will realize that rushing through life have no merit.
