The Canton Tigers continued their strong start to the 2026 season Thursday night, defeating Terry 47-40 on the road.
After scoring 56 points in their season opener against Velma Jackson, the Tigers once again found success on the offensive side of the ball. Canton scored 47 points in a back-and-forth game to come away with the seven-point victory.
The win moves Canton to 2-0 on the season after the Tigers finished 4-6 a year ago. Through the first two games, Canton has scored 103 points while allowing 60.
The Tigers have now already reached half of their win total from last season and will look to continue their undefeated start as they return home.
Canton hosts Murrah Friday night. Murrah enters the matchup coming off a 48-23 victory over Callaway after losing its season opener to Terry.
With two wins already under their belt, the Tigers will look to improve to 3-0 and continue their strong start to the season.
