Nissan to host free Recycling Roundup in Canton Sept. 19

Nissan to host free Recycling Roundup in Canton Sept. 19

Mississippi residents will have an opportunity to clean out unwanted household items while supporting local organizations during Nissan Canton’s first Recycling Roundup on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The free community event, held in celebration of National Cleanup Day, will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Nissan Canton Training Center, Gate 1, 300 Nissan Drive in Canton.

Nissan Canton is hosting the event in partnership with the Tennessee Environmental Council and local community organizations. Nissan staff and volunteers will be on hand to help residents responsibly recycle, donate or dispose of a variety of household items.

Items accepted during the roundup will include electronics, tires, batteries, clothing, furniture and paper for shredding. The event is designed to provide residents with a convenient, no-cost option for properly handling items that might otherwise be discarded.

Appropriate donations collected during the event will be distributed to local Nissan Neighbors grant recipients, including Habitat for Humanity ReStore and MadCAAP. The effort will allow usable items to benefit local organizations and extend the impact of the community cleanup beyond the event itself.

“The Nissan Recycling Roundup is about more than recycling. It's about bringing people together to make a positive difference in our community,” said Candi Listz, manager of Nissan Sustainability & Philanthropy. “We're excited to offer Mississippi residents a free, convenient way to recycle and donate household items while celebrating National Cleanup Day and supporting organizations that are making an impact across our region.”

The Nissan Recycling Roundup is open to Mississippi residents and will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Nissan Canton Training Center, Gate 1, 300 Nissan Drive, Canton.
