The Canton Tigers continued their undefeated start Friday night, defeating Holmes County Central 42-20 on the road.
Canton entered the matchup 4-0 after wins over Velma Jackson, Terry, Murrah and Forest Hill. The Tigers once again found success offensively, scoring 42 points for the third time this season.
The victory moves Canton to 5-0 and gives the Tigers more wins than they had all of last season. Canton finished 4-6 in 2025 but has quickly turned things around this fall.
Through five games, the Tigers have scored at least 40 points three times while also showing improvement defensively over the last few weeks.
Canton will now get a week off before beginning region play. The Tigers return home Oct. 9 to face Callaway in their first Class 6A Region 2 matchup of the season.
