Canton Academy continued its strong run Friday night, defeating Kirk Academy 35-14 at home.
The Panthers have now won five consecutive games after opening the season with a loss against Tri-County Academy. Canton Academy responded with wins over East Rankin, Indianola Academy, Manchester Academy and Winston Academy before adding another Friday night.
The win moves Canton Academy to 5-1 on the season. The Panthers have scored at least 35 points in each of their last three games, including a 39-0 shutout of Manchester and a 36-19 win over Winston Academy.
Canton Academy has now outscored its opponents 152-109 through six games.
The Panthers return to the road Friday night to face Leake Academy. Canton Academy will look to make it six straight wins as the second half of the season gets underway.
