Canton Enters Region Play Undefeated After Open Week

by Charlie Rook

Canton entered its open week with a perfect record after another strong performance to close out its non-region schedule.

The Tigers improved to 5-0 with a 42-20 road victory over Holmes County Central on Sept. 25. Canton has scored at least 42 points in four of its five games this season and has continued to put together one of its strongest starts in recent years.

Quarterback Jaden Gee had a big performance in the win over Holmes County Central, completing eight of nine passes for 223 yards and three touchdowns.

After the week off, the schedule gets more important for Canton. The Tigers return home Friday, Oct. 9, to host Callaway in their first region matchup of the season.

Canton will look to keep its undefeated start going as the Tigers begin the stretch of games that will determine their postseason position.
