Canton Academy saw its five-game winning streak come to an end Friday night as the Panthers fell 41-7 on the road against Leake Academy.
The loss drops Canton Academy to 5-2 on the season after the Panthers had put together an impressive run following a season-opening loss to Tri-County Academy.
Canton Academy entered Friday having won five straight, including victories over East Rankin Academy, Indianola Academy, Manchester Academy, Winston Academy and Kirk Academy. The Panthers had also scored at least 35 points in each of their previous three games.
Friday was a different story as Leake Academy held the Panthers to just seven points and handed Canton Academy its first loss since August.
The Panthers will look to bounce back Friday, Oct. 9, when they return home to face North Delta.
