Canton-area residents will have an opportunity to learn more about a proposed economic development project and provide input during a community town hall meeting Wednesday, Oct. 14.
The proposed development would include a Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) plant, Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) operations and use of the Grenada Railroad (GRYR) to support the transportation and logistics of materials.
The town hall meeting is intended to provide residents with information about the proposed project and an opportunity to hear directly from company representatives and community leaders. Attendees will be able to ask questions, learn more about the proposed operations and discuss how the development could affect the surrounding area.
Community feedback will also be welcomed as residents learn more about the project and its potential role in the local economy and transportation network.
The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Madison County Economic Development Authority, 135 Mississippi Parkway in Canton. The event will follow a come-and-go format, allowing residents to attend during the two-hour window.
Residents who live in Canton and surrounding communities are encouraged to attend, ask questions and become informed about the proposed development.
The meeting is open to the public.
