Canton Public School District librarians recently took part in the Mississippi Library and Media Professionals conference, gaining new ideas and resources to bring back to their school libraries.

The free conference is held in three Mississippi cities — Canton, Oxford and Hattiesburg — giving library professionals from across the state opportunities to learn from one another and build professional connections.

The conference program included professional development sessions for K-12 school and public librarians. Topics included new programming ideas, curriculum connections and literacy resources that librarians can incorporate into their schools.

Canton Public School District librarians also had the opportunity to meet with library vendors and learn about products and services designed to support school library programs.

The conference provided the librarians with additional resources and ideas as they continue developing programs and services for students throughout the district.
