At the Canton High School (CHS) commencement for the class of 2022, the graduates were recognized for their academic excellence.
The 2022 valedictorian is Cedria Griffin, and the 2022 salutatorian is Lorrin Nichols.
Griffin received $7,900 in scholarships, including a scholarship from Holmes Community College and a scholarship from NISSAN Titans of Tomorrow.
Nichols received $88,450 in scholarships from 100 Black Men of Canton, 2022 DNA Identity Scholarship, A&K Transportation LLC, A Village, INC, Alcorn State University, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Beta Delta Omega Chapter, Bell’s Educare, Brent & Brown Scholarship, Madison County (MS) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Dr. Erica McElroy-Barton Scholarship, Eronda Jackson Memorial STEM Scholarship, Frances M. Duvall Scholarship, Renza & Arleen Anderson Scholarship, Thomas Johnson Scholarship, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Tau Phi Zeta Chapter Canton.
The class of 2022 received $565,495 in scholarship offerings.
