Allison Wells Quilt Guild update

Allison Wells Quilt Guild members have enjoyed several learning projects for the month of July, including learning tips on quilt binding and mitering corners. We also practiced the art of ruching (gathering fabric) for applique. Our president Laura Key recently attended the Mississippi Quilters Association summer gathering at Belhaven, where she took a class on hand applique. She shared some tips on creating the perfect sharp point on leaves and small applique fabric pieces. Belca Cauthen and Ann McKay also attended the meeting with Key. Members are continuing to share Christmas fabrics and squares for our joint Christmas quilt.
